When buying EVE MB31 cells for a DIY battery, checking the model and capacity is only part of the decision. The terminal configuration and matching connection parts also need attention, especially if you already have a battery box or a set of busbars.
The right choice depends on your connection layout, busbars and installation space. A double-terminal configuration should not automatically be treated as a capacity or current upgrade.
What Do “Single” and “Double” Terminals Mean?
In this guide, these terms describe the connection arrangements offered in our product listings. They do not mean that the cell has a different number of positive and negative poles.
The double-terminal version shown in our photos has two threaded connection holes on each terminal block. When comparing it with a single-terminal version, look at the actual fixing arrangement rather than relying on the product name alone.

Also distinguish the cell’s rated specifications from the supplied terminal hardware. The name “EVE MB31” alone does not tell you which connection blocks, screws or busbars are included.
Four Things to Check Before Ordering
- The actual terminal configuration. Ask for a clear top-view photo showing both poles. Confirm the connection type, thread size and the parts supplied with your order.
- Busbar fit. Check the fixing-hole layout, spacing, dimensions and orientation against the busbars you plan to use. Do not assume that an existing single-terminal busbar will fit a double-terminal arrangement.
- Correct fixing hardware. Confirm the supplied screw or nut type, suitable screw length and tightening requirements. Do not guess a torque value from the cell model name or another seller’s listing.
- Battery-box clearance. Check the space around the terminal hardware, busbars, insulation covers and lid. Matching the cell body dimensions alone does not confirm that the complete connection assembly will fit.
Use supplier-approved matching parts. Do not force a busbar into position or improvise a connection to compensate for mismatched hardware. Battery assembly should be carried out by someone qualified for the work.
Which Configuration Makes More Sense for Your Project?
For an existing battery box, start with the box and its connection layout. Send photos and dimensions of the parts you already have before choosing the cell version.
For a new build, select the cells, busbars and fixing hardware together. A double-terminal configuration may suit your planned layout, but it is not automatically the better choice for every project.
Replacing cells also requires checks beyond terminal fit. Cell condition, matching, operating limits and the complete battery-system design still matter.
Common Questions
Does a double-terminal MB31 cell have more capacity?
The connection layout alone does not establish a higher capacity. Compare the rated cell specifications and any capacity-test results under stated test conditions, rather than judging capacity from the number of fixing points.
Can I reuse my existing busbars?
Possibly, but fit must be checked. Clear photos, hole-spacing measurements and details of the fixing hardware are more useful than a model name alone.
Are the busbars and screws always included?
Check the exact product option and packing list. Do not assume that every MB31 listing includes the same connection parts.
Need Help Checking Your Configuration?
Before ordering, send me your required quantity, delivery country and postcode, along with a photo of your battery box or existing busbars. A clear view of the terminal area helps us check the connection configuration and identify which details still need confirmation.
